The Decision Velocity Index™

You cannot solve decision drag with another personality assessment.

The problem is not whether your leaders are introverts, visionaries, collaborators, or Enneagram threes. The problem is what happens when the stakes are real, the answer is unclear, and somebody has to make the call.

The Decision Velocity Index™ measures that.

(a), Not who your leaders are. How they move.

The DVI measures how effectively leaders make and move consequential decisions when they are operating under pressure, navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and incorporating input from multiple stakeholders. It examines five areas that directly affect whether good judgment becomes action.

01

Decision Ownership

Do leaders know which decisions are theirs, and can they bring those decisions to a real close?

02

Speed and Momentum

Can they keep work moving without rushing, stalling, or waiting for certainty that is never coming?

03

Authority Expression

Can they use the authority they have, disagree when it matters, and make a call without performing invulnerability?

04

Risk and Stakeholder Navigation

Can they listen widely without handing the decision to the room?

05

Self-Trust Under Pressure

Can they trust their judgment when the information is incomplete and not everyone will approve?

The org chart tells you who has authority. The DVI tells you who can actually use it.

(b), What it identifies

These patterns are easy to misread from the top.

A senior executive may see a team that lacks initiative. The team may see a leader who asks for ownership but reverses decisions the moment they disagree. Both may be describing the same organization.

  1. 01Where decisions keep getting escalated
  2. 02Where accountability and authority do not match
  3. 03Where collaboration has become cover for avoiding the call
  4. 04Where leaders are protecting themselves instead of moving the work
  5. 05Where senior leaders say they want ownership but keep taking it back
  6. 06Where women and other underrepresented leaders are carrying a different level of risk

(c), Sometimes the system has trained them to

A leader who hesitates is not necessarily weak.

They may be responding rationally to an environment where:

  1. 01Authority is unclear
  2. 02Priorities keep changing
  3. 03Decisions are regularly overturned
  4. 04Disagreement carries a cost
  5. 05Being wrong is remembered longer than being silent
  6. 06Every meaningful decision eventually gets pulled upward

That distinction matters. Otherwise, organizations keep sending individuals to leadership training while leaving the conditions that created the behavior completely untouched, a beautiful little cycle of fixing the wrong thing. The DVI examines both: the leader’s behavior and the environment shaping it.

(d), Not speed at any cost

Fast is not always good. Slow is not always bad.

Some decisions deserve scrutiny, discussion, and time. Others become more expensive with every day they remain unresolved.

Decision velocity is the ability to understand the difference, and to move at the pace the decision requires.

The goal is to help the right people make consequential decisions with enough clarity, authority, and trust to act responsibly before certainty arrives.

(e), What happens with the findings

We do not hand you a score and wish you luck.

Enough Labs translates DVI findings into a practical plan for change. We identify the patterns having the greatest effect on execution, bring the real dynamics into the room, and help leaders practice a different way of deciding through facilitated work, targeted coaching, and the actual decisions already sitting on their desks.

No generic score dump. No labels people will still be using against one another three years from now. No inspirational fog. Just a clearer view of what is slowing the work and what needs to change.

What if the problem everyone keeps trying to fix is not the real problem? Let’s find out.
